Over the last months, Aivia has been carefully learning from a group of volunteer human experts how to set up and apply its 3D Object Analysis recipe.
Now, when Aivia is provided with a previously unseen 3D microscopy image, it can predict and automatically set the image analysis parameters needed to get a good preview. This is the first step towards fully autonomous image analysis.

Last year we made it possible for you to create and save custom user interface layouts. We are now expanding on this concept by introducing four easy-to-find and use tiles covering the top four starting points for Aivia sessions. Moreover, the tile for object detection triggers the newly trained AI system to predict the needed parameters for the 3D object analysis recipe.

Refined file handling performance
We further refined our file format so that file conversion is much faster (up to 45% time-saving) and the resulting files are smaller (up to 35% space-saving) while retaining all the original data. Moreover, we are releasing a range of documentation that describes the aivia.tiff file format so that everyone can benefit from its design. This makes it possible for developers of other applications to create readers and writers for aivia.tiff files.

Explore Leica files with ease and full control
It has been four (great) months since Aivia joined Leica Microsystems. We have made new friendships, built solid partnerships, and collaborated with our broader team to bring you innovative hardware and insight-creating software.
In the short term, we focused on expanding our coverage of Leica file formats, including 2D and 3D visualization of TauSense data and other lifetime data. Moreover, we have created a new library file explorer to make it easier to navigate and select the images of greater interest for further analysis.
