Aivia joins Leica Microsystems

Updated: Mar 17, 2021

Dear Aivia User,

Thank you for placing your trust in Aivia and the Aivia Team. We feel honored to be a part of your imaging pipeline and look forward to continuing to support your research for many years. Over the last 4.5 years we have worked tirelessly to build the most advanced and high-performance software for image visualization and insight creation. As a result, you, the Aivia Users, have been among the very first to benefit from AI for a wide range of microscopy applications.

Today Aivia and the Aivia Team are joining Leica Microsystems as a part of the acquisition of SVision LLC assets.

We are thrilled to become a part of Leica Microsystems.

We believe there are major synergies to explore, which will benefit Aivia and Leica Microsystems customers. Leica Microsystems is a global enterprise with over 170 years of history in imaging and more than 3200 associates. Its leitmotif is “with the user, for the user”. A statement coined by Erns Leitz I, the entrepreneur who led the business to world renown. Dedication, Brilliance and Progress are at the core of what Leica Microsystems stands for. The Aivia Team shares these values and has a keen focus on Customer Satisfaction and Continuous Improvement.

All Aivia Team members are transitioning to Leica Microsystems, and we are looking to expand the Team in the short term. As an Aivia User, you will continue to receive the expert and timely support you are used to. Just as before, you can reach us by email, phone, Aivia Forum, and social media. Moreover, our roadmap remains as exciting as ever, and we plan to have up to 3 major releases per year - in keeping with the development pace from the past years.

As it becomes safe we look forward to meeting you in person.

Stay safe and take care.

Sincerely,

Luciano Lucas, PhD

Director Leica Aivia

Leica Microsystems Inc.

(formerly SVision's Exec. VP and Director of Aivia Development)

PS: If you are not yet an Aivia user, now is a great time to check it out. Hopefully, you will enjoy it as much as we love developing and supporting it. As always, your feedback is very welcome!
