The brutal murder of George Floyd and countless other Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC) at the hands of the police is shocking, and utterly unacceptable. Horrors like these should not occur in our society. We stand in solidarity with the peaceful demonstrations and memorials across the globe and their (our) demand for equity, equality, and justice. We send our deepest condolences to George’s and Rayshard’s families, friends, and communities. We hope these tragic deaths, along with those of, Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor and many others, will mark the moment America and the World finally take decisive action against police brutality and racism.
We are all part of the solution!
Inequality and discrimination are under-recognized and often dismissed. The recent events have forced humanity to face the hard reality: racism and negative bias towards BIPOC is a systemic problem that negatively affects all our society.
Biologically we are all part of one race with natural diversity. Moreover, human performance and ability is a direct consequence of nurture and environmentally related factors. Many centuries of systematic racism against BIPOC have led us to the social convulsion we are experiencing today. As individuals and as a society, we must focus our resources on unlearning biased and racist behaviors both implicit and explicit, promoting diversity and inclusion, and creating an equitable future for all. We believe that united we will develop and execute positive solutions for an equitable and better America and World.
The problem predates our lifetime, but we can unite to solve it now.
At DRVISION we are taking a moment to reflect and to listen carefully to the BIPOC community. We will learn from them and promote positive solutions. Individually and as a company we will act as catalysts to this needed social evolution as well as finding ways in assisting our BIPOC colleagues to overcome the many obstacles that prevents their advancement and success in science.
Racism is a major problem in our society - we all need to take decisive action to eradicate it.
